Figure 9.30: Transition table with non-critical race conditions. Initially, the system is in state a and the inputs change from 11 to 01. If both state variables change at the same time, the system immediately transitions to state d. If the least significant bit of the state changes first, the system transitions to state b and then to state d. If the most significant bit of the state changes first, the system transitions to state c and then to state d.
