Abstract

Optimization of Bandwidth Allocation in ATM network is considered in this thesis. We address the problem of determining optimal bandwidth allocation in such BISDN's that adopt ATM as their basic switching. technique by using Simulated Annealing. Computer simulation shows that this optimal policy leads to the configuration which yields the minimum average packet delay.
