Abstract

Los juegos de rol existen hace ya más de 50 años; pero, su impacto y beneficios en el desarrollo del niño no son valorados y/o reconocidos. Por ese motivo, la presente investigación argumenta que los juegos de rol pueden influir en la construcción de las relaciones interpersonales en niños. Mediante el análisis teórico, se ha buscado en el capítulo 1analizar desarrollo de los juegos de rol; explicando -mediante un marco conceptual debidamente articulado- las motivaciones detrás del juego, para, luego, poder discutir la importancia y necesidad de los juegos. Este estudio concluye que los juegos de rol pueden brindar beneficios en la representación y expresión de los niños, entre otros factores. Cabe resaltar, la importancia que tiene en el desarrollo cognitivo del niño (tanto a nivel de procesos cognitivos básicos como complejos). Un dato adicional que debe ser tomado en cuenta, es que se ha podido identificar que los aportes que brindan los juegos de rol van a depender del nivel de cercanía de la relación entre un jugador y el otro. Finalmente, también se resalta la necesidad del acompañamiento y las contribuciones de adultos y pares en torno a los niños y sus ambientes de socialización (e.g. el contexto lúdico), pues cada espacio de interacción social aporta de alguna manera al desarrollo del niño, ya sea presentando nuevos caminos para resolver problemas, posibilidad de comparación de habilidades para medir competencia, entre otros. En ese sentido, es beneficioso que los padres entiendan las ventajas sociales, cognitivas y afectivas que traen los juegos, y participen en estos con sus hijos.

Role-playing games have existed for more than 50 years; however, their impact and benefits in children's development are not valued and/or recognized. For this reason, this research argues that role-playing games can influence the construction of interpersonal relationships in children. By means of theoretical analysis, chapter 1 seeks to analyze the development of role-playing games, explaining -through a properly articulated conceptual framework- the motivations behind the game, in order to then discuss the importance and necessity of the games. This study concludes that role-playing games can provide benefits in the representation and expression of children, among other factors. It is worth highlighting its importance in children's cognitive development (both at the level of basic and complex cognitive processes). An additional fact that should be taken into account is that it has been identified that the contributions provided by role-playing games will depend on the level of closeness of the relationship between one player and the other. Finally, the need for accompaniment and the contributions of adults and peers around children and their socialization environments (e.g. the play context) is also highlighted, since each social interaction space contributes in some way to the child's development, either by presenting new ways to solve problems, the possibility of comparing skills to measure competence, among others. In this sense, it is beneficial that parents understand the social, cognitive and affective advantages that games bring, and participate in them with their children.
