Abstract

The intent of the work "Performance Comparison of Digital Communication Signaling Schemes" is to consider various signaling schemes for digital communication and their relative performances.

In order to gain a better perspective of the overall problem of digital communication signaling, the most basic ideas, such as conceptual techniques for the generation and detection of modulated signals, are outlined and provided.

The primary measure of performance -for a digital communication system is the error rate. Emphasis is placed on analyzing the probability of error for various idealized signaling schemes.
