Abstract

A group-contribution model for the correlation and prediction of Henry's constants in single solvents is presented. The mode: involves a one-parameter per gas/ solvent group pair UNIFAC expression extended to incorcorate free volume effects. The model is applied to three gases, CH4, N2, and O2 in alkane solvents and in water. Good results, including a successful description of the temperature dependency of the Henry's constants, are obtained with typical accuracy of ± 10%.
