Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the pressure capacity of the duct plates for HVAC design as recommended by Sheet MeLal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association, Inc, 1980, whose code is based on the theories of both one-dimensional and two-dimensional analysis. Various sizes of duct width and stiffener spacing for rectangular plates are investigated, Charts and plots are Provided to facilitate the HVAC desidn. A BASIC language program and disc for personal computer is also provided.
