Abstract

Chebyshev polynomial and collocation methods are adapted to solve general ordinary differential equations ( initial-value problems and boundary-value problems ). Approximate solutions of initial-value problems are obtained in step-by-step fasion. the solutions have minimax absolute error in the interval and correct values at the end points. The approximate solutions of boundary-value problem will be continuous on the whole domain and have piecewise Chebyshev approximation characteristics in each subinterval of the chosen partition.
