Abstract
With the proliferation of home computers and the subsequent ability to communicate with retail establishments, an opportunity exists for alternative delivery of goods and products to residential consumers. This paper explores the establishment, management, and problems associated with these burgeoning enterprizes.
Presently, there are several technologies and market strategies under devlopment which stress the convenience of making purchases. In addition to home computers there are other communication networks using different protocols such as videotext which consists of several arrangements of text and graphical protocols. In addition there are several mediums like cable and videotext by which product information can be accessed.
These, and other technical aspects, as well as management considerations, are explored.
