Description

This paper examines how General Education Program (GEP) evaluation can move beyond accreditation-driven compliance to become a collaborative academic practice. Focusing on a public polytechnic university, the study analyzes the design and pilot implementation of an online data-gathering system developed through a collaborative co-design process with faculty. By addressing the structural disconnect between educators responsible for teaching and assessment and administrators responsible for reporting and accountability, the paper demonstrates how faculty buy-in, shared meaning, and transparent communication improve the quality and legitimacy of program evaluation. Grounded in research on assessment, faculty engagement, and educational governance, the article offers a replicable model for aligning pedagogical practice with institutional evaluation requirements, enhancing both accreditation processes and continuous improvement in higher education.
