Abstract

A discussion is presented of how a computer based human communication system can easily support the operations of an internal organizational marketplace for the facilitation of the creation, transfer and utilization of information. The consequences of such a marketplace on the information worker and the organization are examined. This work is based upon prototype software and feasibility tests of a marketplace communication structure developed on the Electronic Information Exchange System (EIES) at NJIT.
