Abstract
An algorithm suitable for the numerical analyses of space-time reactor transients is presented. The principle employed is exact well into the transient as the limit of the order of the approximation used is allowed to increase. As the order of this approximation is allowed to decrease to zero, the principle reduces to the Prompt Jump Approximation. As such, the principle shares the limits of suitability with those of the Prompt Jump Approximation. Hence the algorithm can be applied only to transients that are sub-prompt critical through-out.
