Abstract

Some steady channel flows of a fourth grade fluid are studied. Even though the differential equations governing the motion are nonlinear, exact analytical solutions for the velocity field are obtained. Expressions for other flow quantities are also derived in closed form thus facilitating the experimental investigation of the flow properties of a fourth grade fluid. Graphs for velocity profiles are drawn.
