Abstract

A practical computational technique for the computer-aided analysis of fuel utilization in heating furnaces is suggested. The proposed technique is based on the use of equations for estimation of optimal process variables for simplified heating conditions. The provided equations enable us to assess an admissible range for some process variables, for example, range for the duration of heating. Dimensionless numbers which can be used for such an assessment are presented and a numerical example is used to demonstrate the application of the suggested technique.
