Abstract
The procedure used in automating the assembly process for the forms compensation device used in a cash register is presented. General guidelines for the design of parts for assembly are discussed. Specific design changes are made for the forms compensation device incorporating these design guidelines. A workstation needed for the automation is then developed which incorporates an industrial robot with other equipment. The paper concludes with an economic analysis. © 1988.
