Abstract

In the analysis of an elastic plate with a beam connected to it in a perpendicular direction, the joint between the two may be taken as a rigid inclusion. It will then be important to be able to analyze the transverse flexure of a plate loaded through the rigid inclusion. For this purpose, information on the stiffness of the plate is needed. An extensive search of literature has been conducted to cover both static and dynamic stiffness of plates, the latter in the form of impedances.
