Abstract
This study investigates the effects of AWJ properties on the results of glass machining and examines the feasibility of contour glass cutting. The principal defects of AWJ glass cutting are identified. A practical technique to prevent defects and to improve the quality of the glass surface is presented. A computer package was developed to provide a computer-aided programming function, a control program transformation fuction, and a object image operation function. Throughout the programming function, robot control programs can be generated to improve cutting quality and cutting speed. The transformation function can be used to change the programming modes or the object orientation. And, the object image operation function enables object image transformation on the computer screen.
