Published from April 1938 to March 1942, Newark Engineering Notes published articles by and about the administration, faculty, students, and alumni of the Newark College of Engineering. In his first entry in "The President's Diary" Dr. Cullimore writes "I have talked today with some members of the Alumni of the Newark College of Engineering and the Newark Technical School about the advisability of issuing a paper which reflects something of the professional contributions of this institution. And by the institution, I mean not only its active staff, but its students and its Alumni as well."
And so began a journal that spanned five volumes and 18 issues, providing updates of faculty, administrators, and alumni, news on happenings at the college and technical articles.
With the United States’ entry into World War II and the Newark College of Engineering involved in preparing engineers for the war effort, Dr. Cullimore announced in in the February 10th entry in his column that the March 1942 issue would be “the last issue of the NEWARK ENGINEERING NOTES until after the war.”
