Abstract
The ability of controlling matter at the nanoscale has opened countless possibilities for different kinds of applications and innovations, in various disciplines of science and technology. Analytical chemistry is also one of the premier beneficiaries. ELSI (ethical, legal, and social issues) of nanomaterials identify and address issues that can affect individuals and modern society. The economical sector of nanomaterials seems to be one of the main concerns. Likewise, nanomaterials carry a huge potential regarding their safe and adequate use that can be assimilated by society. The target of this chapter is the description of safety risk, ELSI (ethical, legal, social issues), and the economics of nanomaterials.
