Abstract
Miniaturization has been a rapidly progressing trend with innovative technologies and approaches in recent years. Like other fields of science, analytical chemistry was also influenced by this superior technology. A wide range of new techniques, including molecular self-assembly, micromachining, etc., enables the decrease in dimensions of analytical devices and instruments with micro- to nanometer size.
