Abstract
Nanomaterials and the vast domain of nanotechnology are today in the midst of deep scientific introspection and vision. Nanomaterials are the cornerstones of nanoscience and nanotechnology endeavor today. The world of scientific challenges, the futuristic vision, and ardor of science and engineering are all the forerunners toward a new visionary era in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Nanostructure science and technology is a broad and interdisciplinary area of research and development activity that has been ever-growing worldwide in the past few years. Technological and scientific validation and deep scientific verve are the pillars of research pursuit in the field of nanomaterials and engineered nanomaterials today. In this chapter, the authors discuss in depth with immense insight and far-sightedness the recent developments in nanotechnology, nanomaterials, engineered nanomaterials, and the world of nanomanufacturing. Other areas of research pursuit include the application of nanotechnology in chemical process engineering and the vast world of environmental engineering. Water purification, and water and wastewater treatment stand today at the center of deep scientific introspection and scientific forbearance. In this chapter, the authors focus on the vision, success, and ingenuity of the necessities of nanotechnology and nanomaterials in the furtherance of modern science and human society. A new dawn of human civilization will usher in the field of chemical engineering and environmental engineering as nanotechnology paves the path toward scientific ingenuity.
