Abstract
The utilization of antifungal agents in the treatment of fungal infections can prompt the commencement of antifungal resistance. Resistance has been outlined among all antifungal agents in various species, including Candida and Aspergillus. Regardless of the progress made so far in antifungal treatments, the conjecture of resistance is still of a significant concern in clinical practice. Fluconazole resistance is also causing specific worry in non-Candida albicans species because of the expanded rate of diseases brought about by these species worldwide. As of now different investigational antifungal agents are in preclinical or clinical stage. A few of them have the potential to overcome the resistance observed against the azoles and echinocandins. These classes involve agents that target ergosterol biosynthesis.
