Energy gap-refractive index considerations in perovskites

Abstract
This work proposes a simple model for determining the relationship between static refractive index and energy bandgap. Some evidence from the literature agrees well with the proposed equations. The notions of tolerance factor and octahedral factor are used to establish the upper and lower boundaries of the refractive index in oxide and halide perovskites.
