Abstract

This paper will describe the phenomenon of training and development through the use of interactive computers. Following a description of the Electron ic Information Exchange System, specific experiences of the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the realm of professional faculty development as well as continuing education will be discussed. The actual experience in moderating a course will be described. General principles that are conducive to the successful use of the system will be considered as well as pitfalls for the unwary.
