Abstract
A simple method is presented to study the complete load-deflection and moment-rotation curves for continuous under-reinforced concrete beams. For analysis purposes, a continuous beam is divided into a series of simply supported beams spanning between the points of inflection. In order to obtain the complete load-deflection and moment-rotation for the continuous beam, an approximate method was used to establish the continuity of slopes and deflections at the points of inflection. The analysis results were compared with the experimental values, and a reasonably good agreement was obtained from the present investigation.
