Abstract

A discrete mass three-axis model of a flexible spacecraft developed earlier in Chichester is transformed to state variable modal form by utilizing an approach incorporating methods presented in Thomson. This approach was applied to two, three, four and five body three-axis models of a flexible spacecraft. Details of its application to the two body model and extension to three-axis models involving larger numbers of rigid bodies are presented in this paper.
