Abstract
Industrial application of incineration technology involving energy recovery has historically been designed for hazardous material and wastes destruction to be achieved by fuel-fired boilers designed for a specific hazardous waste. More recent concepts incorporate high heat recovery efficiency as well as the desired destruction efficiency. This article discusses the subject in terms of liquid waste fuel combustion, air emissions, federal regulatory requirements, refuse energy recovery technologies, and others.
