Abstract
In recent years, the significant public expenditures for transportation systems have been of great concern to both industry and the general population. This paper will focus on the evaluation of the effects of operating policies on transit performance indicators. Mathematical expressions depicting both supply and demand side transit operations are formulated and then optimized in terms of various policy objectives. The effects of these policies on transit performance are thus identified. © 1988.
