Abstract
The present study deals with the unsteady flow of an incompressible viscous fluid between two infinitely long coaxial porous cylinders when a) a time-dependent random pressure gradient is applied parallel to the walls, b) the inner cylinder is subjected to a series of pulses of random strenght acting longitudinally at random instants of time, and c) there is a uniform injection of the fluid at the inner cylinder and a suction at the same rate at the outer cylinder. Several useful statistical characteristics of the flow quantities, such as velocity distribution and volumetric flow rate, are obtained. For the flow due to a stationary random pressure gradient alone, an asymptotic value for the correlation of velocity and also an expression for its spectral density are derived.
