Abstract
The efflux time experiment is simple to construct, simple to operate, and very useful for teaching the fundamentals of fluid flow, friction loss, and data analysis in an engineering laboratory course that addresses fluid mechanics. Students have the opportunity to study the effect of various critical parameters and dimensions on the time to drain a tank, analyze the data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
