Analysis of the overhead of saturation routing for ATM networks

Abstract

The use of saturation routing algorithms for making routing decisions of an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) network was discussed. Adaptive routing algorithmic techniques were used in packet data networks. Saturation routing algorithms provided acuracy, simplicity and multicast routing. It was concluded that in large number of expected data exchanges, the average delay increase was negligible for utilization rates with a large number of links by using saturation routing algorithms.
