Abstract
According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, every hour an older adult dies as the result of a fall. With a better understanding of postural control, improved methods of treating elderly facing this problem can be developed. In order to gain a better understanding of postural control a four-link mathematical model that more accurately depicts the dynamics of the body has been developed. This model is now being used to study different aspects of balance. Specifically we would like to take a look at the difference between asymmetries between people with normal balance and diagnosed balance problems.
