Abstract

We describe the use of a computer-supported information market in an experimental decision making task for undergraduate Information Systems students. The market is organized as a series of seven consecutive weekly face to face sessions. In between those sessions, the students provide feedback on their trading experiences through an online discussion board. In this paper, we focus on the students' feedback as they deal with the uncertainty and variation of the market and reflect upon their trading behavior. We illustrate how the students cope to understand the decisions obtained in the market while learning about the market mechanisms, behavioral decision strategies and the role of information systems. © 2003 IEEE.
