Abstract
The creation of the Pre-Engineering Instructional and Outreach Program (PrE-IOP) keeping in view the necessity of inducting women in engineering field is discussed. One of the components of PrE-IOP is an intructional component that implements pre-engineering curriculum in middle and high school classes. The other is an outreach component that consists of a comprehensive information campaign about the rewards of engineering and technology professions. The proposed program seeks to increase the future pool of qualified high-tech workers, including women and minorities.
