Abstract
This paper discusses and demonstrates an integration of embedded electronic systems utilizing distributed sensors and localized actuators to increase the adaptability and environmental performance of a building envelope. It reviews state-of-the-art technologies utilized in other fields that could be adopted into smart building designs. The case studies discussed here, sensors are embedded in construction assemblies provide a greater resolution of gathered data with a finer degree of actuation. These case studies adopt the Internet of Things (IoT) framework based on machine-to-machine (M2M) communication protocols as a potential solution for embedded building systems. stract here by clicking this paragraph.
