Abstract
The analysis and design of a solid state step down transformer is presented as part of a research study which reviews novel approaches to the development of high frequency power magnetic apparatuses and applies available theory to produce a solid state counter part. The resulting circuit exhibits the potential for efficiency as high as 85%, low output ripple, regulation that is comparable with other modes of power conversion and the ability to provide localized on-board power.
