Abstract
The proposed research is based on an equation developed by Dr. Hsu, which represents the strength interaction diagrams and failure surface for reinforced concrete rectangular and square columns under combined biaxial bending and axial load. In this research, two rectangular columns and two square columns subject to biaxial bending and tension were tested and compared with the proposed failure surface equation. This study shows that the experimental test results achieve more strengths then those calculated by the equation of failure surface.
