Abstract
The thin-film flow of a constant volume of silicon oil spreading down a glass plate was investigated. The initial condition was generated from a horizontal fluid filament. Two optical diagnostic method, one based on an anamorphic system and the other on the Schlieren method were used. The film thickness profile and the evolution of the moving contact line were estimated.
