Abstract
The introduction of the finite difference method (FDM) to students has been limited to problems involving Cartesian solution region. In this paper, we present an extension of FDM procedures to axisymmetric geometries as taught to undergraduate students. The techniques are illustrated with specific practical applications to the solution of Laplace's and Poisson's equations.
