Abstract
The author highlights the degree of difficulty in adopting total quality in technical education and accentuates the need for such programs in technical education. He points out that application of total quality approach to technical education is a great deal more challenging than might be expected. Attainment and then subsequent maintenance of quality are dependent upon rapid response to changing conditions, clear customer/supplier communication, and reduction of process variation. It is emphasized that the process of providing students with a technical education is challenging in all three of these areas.
