Abstract

In this work, the C programming language has been used to create an expert system for the injection molding of thermoplastics. In the following, the expert system concept, the knowledge acquisition of the expert system for injection molding, and an achievement example will be presented. The architecture of the expert system is discussed along with that of the knowledge base. The corrective action suggested by the expert system will advise how much of an adjustment must be made during the corrective actions. The system also provides a very friendly user interface between the system and the user. These demonstrations show that the expert system method is a useful and powerful technique to resolve deviation and maintain quality in the injection molding process.
