Abstract
Our QA program has evolved through additions, refinements, and changes over a three-year span. Its success is largely due to the biomedical staff's timely alerting the coordinator to any problems or trends that they become aware of that might otherwise be overlooked. By establishing, refining, and analyzing our criteria, we have created a program that has practical and comprehensive application throughout the hospital setting. This evolution and its documentation played a large part in the equipment management program's receiving a grade of 1 in a recent JCAHO hospital survey.
