Abstract
The Newark College of Engineering's (NCE) approach to broaden the assessment process to encompass the attributes that engineers must possess in the workplace is described. The goal of this new process is to assure that graduating engineers have a comprehensive collection of knowledge, skills, and abilities, thus being better prepared for the increasing complex work environment. The design and implementation of the assessment program are described as well as the continual challenges institution may face as they embark on this journey towards a comprehensive process and continuous improvement process.
