Abstract
This paper presents a one-pass algorithm for local symmetry of contours from chain codes. The algorithm embeds the local symmetry deficiency computation, which was proposed by Iñesta et al. into our chain codes extraction process. Unlike the original one which uses the chain codes description of the contours as input, our input is the binary image. Therefore, without separating the code extraction and the LSD computation process, we finish it in one pass. Moreover, this algorithm has the capability to process the multiple contours at the same time.
