Abstract
Ten topics in electric engineering were identified to be searched on the Internet to evaluate various search methods. The study aims to develop a comparative analysis between the various search engines, rather than to identify which search engine is the best. The search engines included were AltaVista, Excite, HotBot, Infoseek, and Lycos. A relevancy index for one of the metasearch sites was also developed.
