Abstract

It has been shown by simulation results that the interference adaptation dynamic channel allocation (IA-DCA) strategy is a promising channel allocation method in TDMA/FDMA systems. However, theoretical analysis of IA-DCA has not been thoroughly studied in the literature. The main difficulty is how to represent the interference in the IA-DCA environment. In this paper, the computation of both downlink and uplink cochannel interference in the IA-DCA environment is investigated. A framework for the analysis of 2-way balanced IA-DCA schemes is proposed. An asymptotic upper performance hound for the IA-DCA strategy is derived. The bound is used to estimate the maximum capacity enhancement the IA-DCA method can provide over the fixed channel allocation. Both a deterministic propagation model and a lognormal shadowing model are considered.
