Abstract

An overview is given on the Information Technology (IT) Road Map as the moves from the basic Internet evolution to the Next Generation Internet initiatives and from information-centric to knowledge-centric paradigm is shown. In particular, medicine and health care issues are discussed in light of these developments. With the continuing evolution of the numerous technology and its support components, medicine and health care are in the midst of a major paradigm shift to embrace the electronic age.
