Abstract
The presented work is concerned with numerical modeling of waterjet surface processing. More specifically, it is concerned with modeling of the waterjet paint stripping. An experimental database, containing water pressure, standoff distance, traverse rate and the strip width (the width of the region where paint was completely removed by the moving jet) was acquired. The Fuzzy Logic technique was used to construct routines relating input variables with the strip width. An additional database was acquired in order to evaluate the accuracy of the prediction. The error ranges from 1% to 7% in the tested parameter space. The presented study showed that the application of Fuzzy Logic for modeling of the waterjet surface processing is practical.
