Abstract
The development of subwavelength photonic crystal for optical interconnects was discussed. Since the physical realization of 3-D photonic crystals was difficult, much of the effort was concentrate on microwave experiments. Thus, dielectric structures exhibited self-imaging, morphology-dependent transmission and pulse shaping properties. It was observed that significant evidence for ultrarefractive effects predicted by numerical modeling.
