Abstract
The method in which innovation magnitude and innovation speed are related to organizational size and organizational slack was examined using an investigation of the commercial banking industry. Data on slack and size were collected from a database compiled by Sheshunoff Information services for all federally insured commercial banks. Secondary and a mail survey questionnaire were used to collect data on innovation magnitude and speed. Results supported the notion that organization slack was positively related to innovation speed.
