Abstract
A discussion about the importance of two dimensionality of the electronic structure in the theoritical study of the origin of superconductivity in MgB2 was presented. Several aspects of electron-phonon coupling in a 2D electronic system, using Li1-xBC that lies in the same class of materials as MgB2 were clarified. It was found that the strong electron-phonon coupling that accompanies the transition to the metallic state produced remarkable changes in the phonon spectrum, as calculated from density functional linear response theory.
